Happy Forest is first and foremost the project of one man: Olivier Tabanon.
Commercial director by trade, with the 2008 crisis and the world going crazy with one objective: profitability at all costs, he decided to leave everything to return to truer values. Building a leisure park bringing together animals and tree climbing with original games “that the others didn’t have” then seemed obvious to him.
This project quickly became a craze for all his family who quickly got caught up in the game. From the place to the name of Happy Forest, everything is a story of family and friendly choices (thanks to the friends!)
Opened in 2011, this park then offered an animal farm and tree climbing with 130 games. From now on, Happy Forest offers Laser Game Outdoor, a camping on the farm, a tree climbing park with 200 games.
In 2015 Olivier obtained several capacity certificates allowing him today to expand his farm into an animal park. The arrival of these new residents such as flamingo, rhea, emu, alpaca, raccoon, crowned crane, Swainson’s lori, raccoon dog, European bison will be done little by little, according to the time that they can grant to welcome them in the best conditions.
Today there are already kangaroos, macaws, fallow deer and ostriches.
In 2016, he created a laser tag field with 10 pistols, enriched with 10 other pistols in 2017.
To meet, he created a room in the form of a palombière that he rents, a snack bar with homemade pizzas, and created a new activity: Zorbing.
It has become a real multi-activity place for the whole family, friends and companies.
In 2018 the paths of the animal park were improved and a shop was created and in 2019 the creation of an Escape Game room.
In 2020, an association was created to protect animals, 35 members joined in a single year.
The park inaugurates in the presence of the Madame La Préfète de Lot et Garonne a brand new immersion aviary. The Macaws now have plenty of room to fly and Swainson’s Lories join them to the delight of the public.
During the 1st confinement from March to May, the park suffered the full brunt of the absence of its three trainers and the lack of food. The association was very precious during this bad patch. Since the park has passed this milestone, the animals have not suffered thanks to everyone’s investment. Individuals but also companies gave food and even donations to the association to participate in these purchases. Thanks to them !
